SAPPHIC TAKEOVER THURSDAY will have a very special Sub-Event that night, as trained Priestesses of Aphrodite Cesily Sevenroot and Megan Pedone will be presenting and running multi-group sexuo-spiritual explorations, for women at Hawks Sapphic Thursday who want to participate in the exercises. Join us for Sapphic Takeover at Hawks PDX on Thursday May 25th and sink into your archetypal pleasure center in a women’s only safer space.

Welcome to an evening where we invite a different kind of consensual relationship into our pleasure web. In this two hour intro to cultivating personal gnosis, we will respectfully explore drawing down the goddess Aphrodite as a force of love, passion, wisdom, and feminine power. Topics include:

An introduction / review of Dr Betty Martin’s The Wheel of Consent, discussing where we place ourselves in the various roles of receiving and giving, and the accompanying dynamics.

How the simple and ancient art of imbuing intention into objects and gathering them onto an altar space unlocks vast potentiality for expansive self-love and pleasure.

The powerful and sometimes awkward practice of communicating our desires and boundaries, and how this commitment helps dismantle the patriarchy inside and out.

Practicing purposefully inviting Aphrodite into your sovereign space as an inspiration and visionary guide to new vibrancies and insights that can build not only your bliss-tolerance, but have reverberating effect on realizing your personal autonomy and ability to foster deep self love and forgiveness.

Focus time in small, odd-numbered groups of 3-5 participants, where we can practice negotiating the receiving and giving of touch in a group setting.

Please bring a small object to represent your intentions for the evening on the Altar. Organization of groups will be through the drawing of these tokens.

Now back to my standard Event posting for Sapphic Takeover Thursdays!

Folks across the Sapphic spectrum—including Women, Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender-Expansive people—have been asking for a dedicated space to gather together at Hawks. A space to spa, hot tub, connect, touch, be sensual, be playful, and exist in shared Sapphic energy.

Over the past several weeks, multiple individuals and groups have come forward expressing the need for a Sapphic-centered space within our community.

With guidance from community voices—and with PNW Poly Sapphics helping spearhead this vision—we’re excited to begin creating that space with intention and care. (Continue reading below to learn more about PNW Poly Sapphics!)

Note on Attendance & Gender:

This is a Sapphic event, meaning for people who identify as Women or are on the F-side of the gender spectrum, or are Sapphic Nonbinary people, to meet, have safe space to meet, to touch and to potentially play together, with other Sapphics, or Lesbians, or folx exploring this form of sexuality within themselves. If you are considering coming to this Event, ask yourself:

"Is your being here in line with the comfort of the people whom this event is for, that is, Sapphic people here to meet other Sapphic people? and:

Just as important: do you think you are someone whom somebody else who identifies as "Sapphic" is looking to come to this event to meet?"

-- If not, then there are other days where we would love to have you join us at Hawks, such as an All-Gender-Inclusive Tuesday, Sunday, or Friday.

Note on Staffing:  Hawks staff reflects the inclusivity of the community. Respectful service is our norm regardless of event type - we can't gender-adjust our staff for the various days, as people have set shifts that they depend on. The purpose of any of us being here is to keep the place running and safe, check people in and pour soup and cook food, keep the bathrooms clean and the jacuzzi running, and most importantly, keep our Community safe, and to be professionals serving the LGBTQIA+ Community as best we can.
